Some inexplicably YT rabbit hole ended me up here. For those that don't want to waste 2 minutes of your life or are getting near the end of the month and don't wanna waste the remaining crumbs of your data plan on anything other than Pornhub I have a screen grab... but it gets better.

YouTube

It is an old video but new to me.

Dude is happy about destroying his truck doing something that insurance won’t cover? OK then.

If you watch the video you see some amazing redneck engineering. Not everyone goes to the dealership for repairs.

you can have the biggest tires in the world, if you don't have weight over the arse end you'll get pulled around like a rag doll.

I’m sure the children that were conceived as a result of that evening will have a great chance in life.

I'm confused as to how that happened.

Did the Dodge crank out so much torque that it bent the chassis? Or did it have something to do with the tow rope? (I didn't see where they had it hooked)

Has to be the rope, right? I just don't see how it would be able to still drive if the drive shaft put that much torque and bent the frame. Wouldn't the drive shaft break first?

That was Baw heaven though.

Same for me in the last week except I landed on a channel called “WhistlinDiesel”.

Guy has a series of videos where he very intentionally destroys a highly modified late model F-350 supposedly worth north of 100k. While the truck isn’t my style, it’s obviously not cheap. He’s got a ton of other videos making weird mods to/destroying vehicles and just generally being a nut. I find myself watching way too much of it.

Seems to be a trend. I guess if it gets enough views it pays the bills

Smaller tires give you more torque.

Those concrete blocks contain ~1ea. cu. yards of concrete each.

~3,800 lbs. X 4 ea. = 15,200 lbs (7.5 tons!)

But less ground contact surface area.

The contact patch on the dodge looks just as big as the lifted truck. Probably more grip due to those deep treads on Nuff Said

Engine torque twists a chassis pushing the right rear and left front down and lifting the front right and left rear. It was the cable attachment point that caused the issue. The tow cable was attached over the concrete blocks which they had to be due to the height of the other truck. It then went down to the chassis of the truck at the front of the bed, this produced an upward vector of force. It is like picking up a piece of paper in the middle, it folds up.

The drive shaft has a joint right behind the transmission which is close enough to where the frame bent to prevent it from breaking.

Yeah I went back and watched again and kept an eye out for where the tow rope was connected.

It makes sense now after watching again. At first I thought there was just some perfect weight distribution going on that caused the frame to bend up instead of twisting so I was confused and amazed at the amount of torque that would require to bend it that much .
