Not sure if it's still the same, but in Texas if you saw a funeral procession coming, you'd better pull to the side of the road or you will get a ticket. They used to make it a point to enforce it. Maybe still- but not sure.
They could try it here- but I'm not sure the average driver in BR could handle it. Or if the traffic would allow it.

If motorcycle was moving quickly, what would have interfered with the truck driver’s view? IMO the truck was rushing to get through traffic. Truck driver would not have the right of way.

I watched a police funeral escort jump a speed hump and pick up all 4 tires on Marquette between OLOM and Florida Blvd. Floored it from the church and didnt let up until the stop sign. If I were a cop I wouldve tazed him and beat his arse. Yes, cops do often drive like assholes. Not all of them, not all of the time. So, wouldn't be shocked the either.

It is hard to judge the speed of a motorcycle if he is going 70 or so when you are in a 45mph zone which is more than likely what he was doing.
I heard a bike coming up my street wide open, I heard my father say "he's gonna get hit" and then my whole house shook. Doing over 110mph in a 30 mph zone and my neighbor turned left in front of him and he died in our front yard.
I remember a woman stopping, kneeling and praying her rosary next to him-my mother brought out a quilt and covered him and we all watched him take his last breath.
The stunned driver got out and first thing out of his mouth was "I never saw him." Pushed the radiator and motor of the truck into the cab with his body.
The driver was never charged as he shouldn't have been but lost in a civil suit, lost his family, his house, his job and ultimately committed suicide several years later.
And it wasn't his fault it was the idiot doing 110 mph on a residential street.
Police escorts are paid by the deceased family or whomever is paying for the funeral-I've paid for several and they need to make it where at least 3 motorcycles are used or none. That allows them to direct traffic more safely without the need to speed to the next light.
A lot of people don't use them because they just can't afford it. It's part of the business side of dying and you aren't getting anyone buried if it isn't paid for upfront.
