They did that one commercial about him where everyone thought he was gay or just a doofus, and it turned out he had a smoking hot wife, played the guitar, had a mansion, and kids.

Niles Crane was effeminate yes, there's no denying that. BUT...he also was extremely smart, had a great job making bank, loved to drink alcohol, belonged ot exclusive clubs, exercised regularly via squash games, and most notably had the mega hots for a woman that he eventually had to make his own, which he did.
That's a far cry from the overweight bumbling oaf dumbasses that are typically portrayed as husbands on commercials that are constantly having to be set straight by their minority partner.

Is there a masculine guy in any commercial these days?
The Dos Equis Guy, friend, the Dog Equis Guy.

The black and white gay couple eating McDonald’s fries. I guess it’s better than Ronald McDonald trying to frick the Gobbler.

Isn’t that Steve Martin? When has he ever claimed to be masculine?

The last strong male I remember in a TV ad was mixed racer — half black and half motorcycle.

I gotta go with the Chick-fil-A commercial that has the guy talking about his honey pimento cheese chicken sandwich.

Flip Wilson (male) was doing this back in the 1960s and 70s:
That GMC pickup is feminine , a peson who buys that will not want to get it muddy or put a chain saw in the bed.
This is a masculine pickup :
And this is the reason that they cost such much : fancy paint job, leather seats, plush carpets, high end stereo, back up camera, video display, cruise control, power windows and seats with a vibrator, fancy rims, just like a high end luxury car.

This one takes the cake for me. The "We have aunts" commercial [HAHAHAHAHAH AUNTS GET IT].
The way he's sitting, the narrow shoulders, his expression juxtaposing hers. Everything.
