The middle ages really sucked

And so did the Renaissance to a degree. Reading up on all of the horrible way people died back then and how corrupt the church is sickening. If you've never looked into it I highly encourage it very interesting time period but very grisly. Nothing glamorous at all imo.

IDK. looks to me like it would have been a pretty sweet gig to be a priest back in the day. People pay you to tell them their sins are forgiven, that they're going to heaven. All while your banging whores in the backroom of the church.

I'm not trying to be hyperbolic...but when has there ever been a point in time during the history of civilization that death hasn't been horrible and there hasn't been some corrupt governing body at work?
At least they didn't have to worry about the threat of a Jihadist blowing up a public bus back then.

Sounds like much hasn't changed. The church is still corrupt and people are still dying in horrible ways. We do have air conditioning though, so I'll take present day over any previous period
