I put 205K on a 2003 C2500 and it's probably still going somewhere in Mexico.

My problem isn't that a vehicle won't last 200,000 miles. My problem is that most of them look like crap, particularly on the inside, after 3 or 4 years. There's such a thing as a vehicle that starts every time, but you kind of wish it wouldn't so you could be rid of it.
I will say, if you want a car that lasts (and not just in the "starts every time" sense), get a Subaru. My current vehicle is a 10-year-old Subaru I bought new, and she's still my pride and joy.

Most Americans buy cars with automatic transmissions, and BMW automatics crap out right before 100,000 miles, almost without exception. Some of those cars will have their transmissions overhauled, at considerable expense, but just as many get parted out. When transmission #2 craps out a bit before 200,000 miles, the junking is pretty much inevitable.
There's a whole lot of expensive gadgetry failing along the way, too. It's trashy to tolerate cars with a lot of broken accessories. Not saying it doesn't happen, but it's trashy, and trashy people don't keep cars going.

My lowly 2010 Mazda6 shows no sign of slowing down at 102K. Hoping to keep it as a daily driver for a while to work on something classic with some more HP.

‘01 f250 7.3 standard transmission- 350k on the clock. Just changed the power steering pump, radiator and ball joints. Drove to Moab and Colorado last summer and lots of other 8hr road trips pulling a trailer with my Jeep on it. My ‘13 Jeep has about 50k miles because I tow it on long trips and it barley road legal now.

I sure as hell got my money's worth out of my 2012 Jeep Patriot. Bought it new for less than $15K, it still gets 30 MPG on the highway and has 220,000 miles on it.
Now, would I buy another one? No. It's a cheap pile of crap, but it has served its purpose.
