I was born in 1996 and remember this quite clearly. This is when I felt like my childhood ended. Were Millennials the last generation to have a great childhood?

Pop punk died that year, too. I agree that 2006 marked a major shift in pop culture, not just for children.

My son is 3 years old and he's got a damn touchscreen laptop and a 42" HD TV in his room. I think his generation is enjoying life.

I feel like 2006 marked the year in which most modern technology we know today started being put into cars (e.g., lcd screens, gps, throttle by wire)

I love my life and I kind of feel like 2006 was the year where I really hit the ground running and things took off for me. Cheers, 2006!
