There are cleanliness and sanitation ordinances. Just have the street sweepers and pressure washers come through every morning at 6 a.m.

Covid originally was a pandemic, now it's an attempt by the govt to talk more and more power.

We don't talk about mental illness or homelessness, instead it's about gender identification and glorifying criminals.

let’s not act like it’s not a huge problem in Texas and Louisiana cities. It’s really bad in DFW.

Agree. My last trip to Houston was a shocker as I stayed at the Marriott next to Minute Made Park. Tons of homeless and tents in the area. Was sad to see such a nice area looking so bad. Same can be said for NOLA, but much of the city (and state) looks like a trashy shithole so it’s not as noticeable.

Substance doesn’t matter. It’s only about “FEELING GOOD” about themselves. Whatever gives them lib cred, that’s all that matters. Addressing real issues is of little concern to them. They’re too busy feeling good and telling everyone what great humans they are.

I worked in downtown L.A. in 2013-2014 and the homeless problem there was enormous then, but nothing like what I’m seeing in that video.

Homeless Out Loud that basically say you have a right to be homeless

Technically you do but you don't have a right to demand others take care of you in your homelessness.

A similar video showed the homeless mess in Seattle, just as bad. In an interview, a mid 20's female claimed that 100% of the homeless there were addicts. Asked for clarification, she repeated, 100% are addicts. And addicts, homeless & otherwise, steal to pay for their habits. Part of that video showed piles & piles & piles of used needles laying all around.

That would be KOMO's Seattle is Dying from 2019 which was recently followed up with KOMO's The Fight for the Soul of Seattle. Both are excellent watches either independently or together and outline not just what's going on in Seattle but what's happening in the large urban areas across the West Coast and starting to crop up in other areas across the country.

I cant imagine not having a home.... Whatever reasons people have for living under a bridge and suffering is beyond me... There is ZERO way I would put myself in that position....

Yes technically you do. But the homeless out loud people think it’s your fundamental right to have a tent on a sidewalk or a neutral ground or public park, and the government officials cannot tell you otherwise.

One could make the argument that it's Republican's America due to the belief in trickle-down economics, bootstrap upward mobility, and lack of public mental health support. I'm not going to make that argument.

Woof this is too much for me to process. Can you explain your theory?

You think those baws like being homeless?

For many it is a choice

They trade off a place to stay so they can use or drink. There are plenty of warming shelters open, but they also have rules to follow.

They have a myriad of laws, especially zoning laws, that they can use.

Yes, but they don’t get any money from the homeless for enforcing them

Yes, because they can collect $$$ from fines and for additional permits, etc. by enforcing them

Government doesnt actually work for you, it works to fund itself. And it should be infuriating for everyone, yet no one seems to give a shite.

Yep. It's also why we have wide acceptance of gender fluidity and other mental illness issues

Jesus.

This belief reinforces the idea that some people just arent fit to live in a free society

I have no issue with homes for those who cannot take care of themselves, I don't think anyone is. But we have those, we just end up with more homeless as a result.
