Where is the heroin coming from? Why aren’t there harsher punishments for heroin possession?

When I went to Denver last January the amount of homeless camped out in the super nice park RIGHT NEXT to their capital building in the middle of winter I was honestly shocked.

Shouldn't the homeless get a stimulus check ?

If they have a bank account or address.

Can you imagine that shite show

We already had a massive homeless population, so it looks the same to me

Go to LA, SF, Eugene, Portland, or Seattle. Denver is closer to Dallas in its homeless population than them, but I’m sure it’s solely due to the chilly and snowy winters. Went to Maxine Waters district once and saw a literal dumpster fire.

these people are so disease ridden and crazy that the cops are just avoiding them entirely, which makes the homeless now thinking they can get away with anything

I don't blame the cops. What the frick are they supposed to do with them? I live in Long Beach and go to Los Angeles regularly so I am familiar with the problem. Imo it is a societal problem not a law enforcement issue.

And meth. It's completely out of control in Cali.

Was an article in al.com the other day about some activist group trying to do just that. I kid you not.

Olympia, WA here. Our homeless/junkie/mentally ill/sex offender population is out of control. The number of camps all over the place is outstanding. The City Council has the police’s hand tied. The shite is bad and the downward spiral started around 2006. Keep in mind, this town is only 45k people. F*****g frustrating.

Throw them in jail when they start partying it up in the middle of the busiest street in the city.

I haven’t seen anything worse than normal over the last month. Honestly this whole pandemic just makes me pity them a bit more than I used to.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Oxford’s response to the homeless is going full Hot Fuzz on their asses for the Greater Good.

Our issues with heroin in Olympia started in 2006 when cheap Mexican junk came up through the border. You could watch the influx of ODs and deaths come up along the I-5 corridor. It was scary.

I’m in the Pacific Northwest 4-6 times a year on business, and yeah, it’s really bad up there.

I worked in downtown Olympia for nearly a decade from roughly 2002-2011. You could see it turn from shaky, old drunken Vietnam vets with PTSD, to an outright homeless/junkie epidemic nearly overnight.
