Believe me, City of BR is aware, BRPD and EBRSO are aware. Unless the property owner files a complaint, LEO can't do anything. This City needs to be stern (jail) with panhandlers or this is the result that you get. It's that simple. The trash and litter these camp site generate would shock you.

Be thankful that they are squatting where they are and not near your neighborhood. Force the issue to scatter them (disperse them any other place than jail) and it's very likely, that they will end up in a wooded patch near your neighborhood.

Put them in JAIL or watch the area grow with more blue tarps.

amazed the owners of those properties involved haven't stepped in and demanded at the least trespassing charges

I actually spoke to one of the guys who lives back there. He was riding his bike to go wash his clothes at a friends house. Said he use to have jobs and such but wanted to live off the grid. The owners of the land which are suppose to be a big Baton Rouge name, Pennington’s, etc, supposedly gave them permission to be there as long as they keep it nice and prevent people from using the land as a trash dump. That’s at least the story the guy gave me.

Living in a tent off of Bluebonnet isn't exactly what I consider going off of the grid

Bull shite. LSP in an unmarked Dodge was running radar on I10 between Siegen and Bluebonnet the Sunday the Saints lost to the Panthers. They may not be consistent, but they’re there.

Hey I mean the guy had a good story at least. One of the OT detectives should look up who owns the land. If it’s a well off Baton Rouge name his story may have a LITTLE validity

That's the part that gets me. If you want to live off the grid, more power to you. Except, do it on your own land and your own dime. Certainly, dont look for me to donate to your insane cause.

wanted to live off the grid on someone else’s property? That’s called squatting.

The “big name” is Klienpeter, but like I posted earlier, it’s owned by a company out of Colorado that is probably leasing to whatever that operation is in the middle of the field. There’s a small parcel in the area that is still owned by a Klienpeter.

Wrong answer It is owned by a family in a trust and no one can find the family members to call the sheriffs department to file a tresspassing complaint

Had a bum sleeping at the back door of our building on Bluebonnet.

Had to run him off. I felt bad.

BR used to not have that many. There's definitely been a big influx in the past 10 years or so.
