Does anyone know if you can go I-12 east to I-55?

Husband is trying to get his dad from flooded home in Watson to our dry house in BR, but it looks like I-12 West is closed at the Amite River. Thought about taking I-12 east to I-55 south to I-10 west. This sucks.

Pretty sure 10 is closed down as well...

ETA: If you have Waze, plug in the address and see what it says. But getting around north/central BR and surrounding areas is rough right now

Yeah, I think 10 is closed near between Highland and Bluebonnet, but hoping he might be able to get through down Airline a bit.

I know a few people that live on Pheasantwood.
The Gremillions and Dragos. I lived on Willowmore. Our house was torn down in 2002 by Fema. Its just a big open lot now.

Weather Channel's Dave Malkoff is by the Little Natalbany River

he's already used the joke twice that the Little Natalbany and Natalbany have combined to form Big Natalbany

also interviewed someone who said people are on the roof in Natalbany

was in Denham this morning and barely made it out, too. I feel guilt as well, but absolutely nobody expected levels of flooding this severe.
. We had to be boat rescued out of S Woodcrest subdivision. Woke up at 6:30 with water rushing into house. Made it to MIL house behind Denham High School at 11:15. Just got us and animals out and a few clothes is it. Prayers to all affected.

Wait the dog is chained to the porch? I'm not far from McKinley area. Any more details on exactly where this house is? I will go cut him loose.

I'm sure with some righteous navigation, you can get to MOST parts of BR. But no idea how you'll get to Watson.

If someone up there needs to be evacuated, contact the authorities, don't risk your own well being.

Tell him to download the waze app and hopefully that will help. The situation is in too much flux for anyone to tell you what's good or not. And for God's sake tell him not to do anything stupid, these waters have already claimed lives.

The people who have been out in it are likely still out in it. Most of us are sitting on the couch
