I'd move anything personally valuable upstairs but don't waste too much time.

See your address on this map:

Is water crossing hoo shoo too rd by bayou manchac close to Elliot?

We were moving furniture from my aunt's house down Hoo Shoo Too around 4. The water was over the road on our way out. Sorry, I'm not sure which street is was nearby. It was a little ways past that huge mansion subdivison coming down Hoo Shoo Too.

Just got through walking that area (I live near there). Honey Cut Bayou is inches from the bottom of the bridge.

The storm drains there go to the Amite and have backed up well across the road from north of the bayou until just south of Maple Ridge (Avalon subdivision). We're in Fairwood Estates and watching our drains back up onto our roads (they empty into Jones Creek).

Pretty much proves to me Jones Creek is backflow then.

I gotcha, damn, if it's gotten to that Chili's, Target, and Chick-fil-A already...

You saw that?!?

I think closer to I-12 is pretty high. Serious problems if the flooding reaches that retail strip east of Millerville by the Chilis.

Jones Creek is definitely back flowing. Manchac is next....and Ward, Dawson and Bayou Fountain flow into that.

This is moving faster than I thought.

Does anyone have an elevation map for the Claycut? I'm in a new development that's zoned X but sits next to an AE.

Does anyone know if the families of the deceased BR city policeofficers have lost their homes? I know all lived in Livingston parish which has been decimated.

I can't even imagine having to deal with this flood now.

I stayed at my house by Woodlawn acres and by 3pm cars were stalling and people were evacuating. Come 5pm and I'm in a boat getting with animals and a bag in tow to get out. Couldn't take a right onto Antioch Road BC that creek was flooded so bad. As of now the house has 6 or more inches inside- and we had sandbags. No Bueno.

Big Update: reports of Water backing up behind Lake Sherwood subdivision and Episcopal area. Backwater flooding has begun

TheFonz, that apartment complex is Live Oaks. I live up the street, but I got some young LSU cousins who live there. Yes, I'm very worried.

No eye witness....but if Lake Sherwood is seeing backflow (which someone who posted reported)...it's not good for the Episcopal area.

Posted this earlier...

My immediate areas of concern, in order of importance and threat to life, In BATON ROUGE:

1) Homes along the Comite in Merydale and Monticello. (Currently flooding extensively) This has happened

2) Homes along Jones Creek going all the way from Shenandoah to Goodwood (should start flooding extensively soon as the crest moves into the area) This is now underway.

3) Homes along Clay Cut, starting at Tiger Bend. This group probably saw waters recede and think things are safe, so they could be taken by surprise. This is next.

4) Homes along Clay Cut and Airline/Sherwood up to Airline/Bluebonnet. Flooding may not have been extensive during flash flooding today but back channel flooding could be bad.

5) Homes along Bayou Fountain and Ward Creek in Eastern Baton Rouge. It should be a while til they fully crest but they may get it worse than anyone above because all of the above areas drain into the point. This would be the entire Burbank/Highland region as well as the mall and locations along Perkins.

6) LSU Campus, Northgate area. Already a bit flooded, if the backwater flooding is intense enough, it could overwhelm the area.
