The ad seems straightforward and fairly innocuous. The draft has been around for a while. Seems perfectly predictable that some people may think that their child is an exception for some reason when they are not. Besides, who follows the Selective Service on Twitter anyway? Posting this there seems to be the biggest headscratcher about it.

I waiver on this issue. Nothing is more dangerous to liberty than forced conscription, but you better believe folks would be less likely to support America policing the world if their kids were going to be drafted and sent abroad. Let’s hope there is never a reason to activate the draft, but of the situation is that dire, all hands on deck. Freedom is not free, just taken for granted the US. What a shame..

You think a political movement that tells you what kind of car you can or can’t drive, what size soda you can drink, or that you have no say in whether your child has sexual mutilation surgery is going to draw the line at compulsory military service???

And they're not even saying "all males must sign up for Selective Service at the age of 18." They want you to know that they can take your only son away from you at anytime that pleases them.

I agree. We are so far ahead of everyone else militarily we wouldn't need one and even if we do go to war with China there will be no shortage of volunteers. It's not the 60s Vietnam era anymore.
