Someone we know posted a picture on the book of faces, from Thursday, of waiting in a "very long" car line for free food distribution.

The same person posted a picture on Saturday, of the "last minute, we just booked it yesterday" weekend beach trip they took to Alabama.

This is the same person who loves to blast about "welfare queens" online.

I'm really concerned that recent events have turned the corner on our society, and not in a good way. More people than ever want free stuff, who apparently don't need it.

I also saw someone post that the fact people are upset that unemployment is currently paying more than some people normally make, doesn't mean that unemployment is wrong, but that we need to have higher minimum wages.

It's been a good run, Uncle Sam.

I hate free stuff. I even go inside after I pump gas and pay for those few drops that come off and hit my shoe.

I can't imagine going to get in a mile long line for free canned goods. I'd have to be starving to death.

Why? The minimum wage is for the least skilled and experienced workforce. Why does that caliber of worker deserve to make more? They need to tough it out at the beginning and earn their increase in wages through acquiring skills and experience. If a grown adult is working for minimum wage, society didn’t fail them, they failed themselves.

These people are likely a walking contradiction to themselves and they are not smart enough to understand it anyway if you tried to explain it to them.

No it doesn't. The only thing it means is that these payouts were a broken attempt at fixing a problem the government created to begin with.

Everybody loves free stuff. The opportunity cost to get that free stuff is where everyone differs.

You are correct. The clusterfrick is complete. My advice- Keep your head down and grind. Find meaning in the life you create, and protect that. That’s the only place the virtues you cherish will reside. Our father’s America is long dead and it ain’t coming back.

Too bad most minimum wage employers don’t think that way. In my experience, minimum wage is a sentence. I don’t care how much experience or skills you acquire, you’re stuck there.

Please, can someone “in the know” list me the items deemed as “free” that have no cost affixed to them so I can see how this “FREE“ thing actually works? I’ve yet to find it except for momma’s love.
