When I was a teenager I bought a t-shirt from Hot Topic with the General Lee on it. To this day, I have no idea why. I'm a mulatto yankee who had never even seen an episode of The Dukes Of Hazzard. I think I was trying to be edgy or something.
Well, anyway, one morning my gf at the time and I are in the lobby of a dining room waiting to be seated. After a few minutes this family walked in, and one of them was a reallllllly old black woman with a walker and everything. After she sat down I noticed her just staring at my shirt with the iciest expression I've ever seen. I never wore it again.

That reminds me of when my Jewish friend from grade school and I started giving each other Hitler salutes around his house after we saw a WW2 movie (I can't remember which one). We really had no idea what it all meant, but bis mom was less than amused.
