I don't know about "generation." I remember drinking a lot of Powerade at little league practice and that was twenty years ago.

How the hell do you people think this? A regular coke has nearly identical calories and sugar to Gatorade, but the Gatorade has seven times as much sodium.

I hate carbonated drinks. Energy drinks suck too. I like water and Gatorade or Powerade. Whoops, Peyeeerade. Forgot where I was for a minute.

A drink like Gatorade or powerade is great for athletes during games and during practices where they burn through their glycogen stores and sweat out all of their electrolytes, but for your average person it is little more than kool-aid. At the very least, get the zero-calorie option.

Meh - I'm not sure how it's worse for you than soda, from a caloric standpoint.
What is bad is the acid - way, way, way more acidic than coffee, tea or soda (drinks it seems to be replacing). I guess they've pivoted from the super high caffeine of energy drinks, which is a step in the right direction - I suppose.
