D2 had her first shift as a RN yesterday at OLOL...she and her preceptor got floated!!!

Congrats to your daughter I can remember when I worked peds there...they would close most of the unit during the summertime. I was either floated or had many shifts just cancelled. There were times there wasn't a single pediatric patient...so you just had 2 nurses there hanging out for 12 hours in case one was admitted.

My very first day at OLOL...I overslept! I remember calling work almost in tears because I was so stressed over it. Hauled arse in there (30 minutes late) and made sure I was never even a second late to work again.

This might be a dumb question, but do kids have heat strokes? Or are they less prone to them?

I actually meant to say, between thanksgiving and Mardi Gras.


But the time between Thanksgiving and New Years is the best and worse time of the year. Good because it;s slow as frick and it the middle of hunting season, bad because it's slow as frick and it's the middle of hunting season.
