While standing in a room with 2019 models, the host was bragging about the Silverado and a couple of cars winning the initial quality award for their class.

Fine print said ‘current award based on 2003, 2004, 2005 model years’.

Actually, and this really is no surprise to anyone who knows anything about vehicles and isn't just mouthing off, Ford and Cnevy are pretty much neck and neck in terms of initial quality.

Actually says 2013, 2014, 2015 model year vehicles.

The JD Power Dependability Awards are based on cars that are at least 3 years old, being driven in their 4th year of ownership.

So seems like nothing is be advertised falsely here?

Also, I do not drive Chevy so I have no dog in this fight.

if you look further you will see JD Power is fully owned by a subsidiary of general motors

ever notice ford has never won the award, EVER

pretty easy to win awards when you own the company that gives out those awards

Makes sense to me. How can you give a dependability award to a brand new car?

It says 2013, 2014, and 2015 on my TV.

Which is a dependability award for vehicles 3 years or older. Not initial quality.
