Generator is included in the last paragraph of the photo. It does not have to be for a medical reason.

Yea I did all that shite.....after I applied for an appeal. Then they denied me again and I called and asked why...it was because I didn't have a letter from a doctor explaining why the generator was medically necessary.
At that point I just gave up.
ETA
I never saw in the FEMA documentation where a medical requirement was needed either....but again that's what I was told by the person that I talked to.

I wonder if they’ll pay me for my $1200 saw lol
The $250 limit will get you into a ms250 (I think) and I’ve done some damage with those. You’d really like to get into the ms260/1 for a great power/weight combo.
Still, I find the chainsaw deal rather ridiculous. They should just up the generator money to $1,000 to get a good inverter and remove the saw option. There are some dumbasses with chainsaws.

I still don't really know how to apply. It said you had to apply for general assistance first, which i did and got rejected.

I think they just very recently waived the medical requirement...citing the high temperatures and humidity were an across the board medical requirement...I think

Are they really reimbursing people for generators and chainsaws? What a world.

If they deny your generator/chainsaw make sure you had all the info on the receipt that they require. They deny it for some stupid shite. I’m waiting to see if I get the generator reimbursement
Posted on 9/9/21 at 1:22 pm to bulldog95
Thanks for the help. Will upload my receipt tonight.
Posted on 9/9/21 at 1:26 pm to bbap
So what if I just buy one right now? Still good? One big or two parallel better option? I'm thinking two parallel.

I just went back and went to the appeal tab and uploaded my receipt for my genny and my drivers licence. Problem is, I used my business account to purchase the genny so it has my business name and address and not my name and address.....my business and my home are in two different cities, but I own the business.....I wonder how they are going to view this

Unfavorably, I think. But who knows really?

Applicants who purchase or rent a generator and/or chainsaw between Aug. 26, 2021 and Sept. 25, 2021, may be eligible to receive financial assistance for reimbursement if:
The applicant meets the general eligibility requirements for FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program.
The home is the applicant’s primary residence and is located in a parish designated for the Individuals and Households Program. The parishes are: Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Washington, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana parishes.
That language just looks ripe for frickery.
