Our military is unique in that its the only one that is actually capable of projecting power across oceans.

The dynamic of war is so weird since the 70's. Once we had the ability to express deliver a nuclear warhead anywhere on earth within a half hour, war got weird. From that point on youre basically adjusting your level of restraint applied to your war effort.

We are rapidly approaching our drones fighting against their drones.

[quote]There's a company out of Texas that's developing some incredible shite and they'll probably land the contract with the Navy and build a shipping yard somewhere on the Gulf Coast.[/quote

They already have contracts and a shipyard in Louisiana.

what about when they take out a 13 billion dollar aircraft carrier with thousands of people and umpteen million in equipment?

so we are just going to sit back and let them come to the ship...no defense at all? :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Don't see a huge necessity for drones while we're surrounded by oceans.

The Global Hawk has a range of over 13,000 miles. DC to Moscow is less than 5,000 miles, and the distance from DC to Beijing is less than 7,000 miles.

I'm limiting my assessment to violence. Just an opinion abt a space im not qualified to speak on.

Lockheed has antigravity tech so not sure why they are even messing around with old fashioned rockets and jets anymore.

I feel like people would take Musk more seriously if he wasn't an African American. People just don't take them people too seriously.

In light of the recent Iranian mission, "useless" is a very odd choice of words. Meanwhile, the assumption we are not fully capable in drone capacity is beyond odd ... as folks like Qasem Soleimani could attest.

Drones could eventually make our naval fleet obsolete. Not an exciting prospect for a country who dominates with naval power.

In the age of drones, submarine forces are all the more valuable. Drones cannot stop ICBMs launched from submarines.

yep we are so far behind yet the f22 that we started working on in the 80s and finished over 2 decades ago is still by far the best fighter in the world and has no peer.

we are the only country that has 5 or more true carriers. China can barely manage to build them and outside of our allies in europe who we gave tech to....we are really the only country capable of having them.

only country with rail guns, lasers etc....created the iron dome with isreal, patriot battery system, created the Phalanx CIWS

best subs, best gen 4 & 5 and working on 6th gen jets

but yep....we are so far behind...just like we are so far behind on hypersonic missles too

no...no it cant.

do you really think we arent developing our own drones? drones launched from other air crafts, drones that seak out other drones etc?

its like you dumb fricks dont understand combined arms when it comes to naval warfare.

explain to me how the drones are going to get close enough to launch to attack a carrier group?

how are they getting through the defenses?

Saying it can't is fricking retarded.

It could. Not will, not won't. it could. Discounting the possibility, especially after watching the Ukrainians sink Russia's Black Sea fleet with drones in the past 3 years, is completely foolish.

So we are going to create countermeasures and they are just going to stop developing anything new to try and bypass them? Is that what you're suggesting?

Nien

While companies like Aundril are AWESOME with a Capital 'A', Drones have 5-10year hysteria life.

Space and undectables (nanomites, cyberwar far) are where it's at. Granted, drones will always have a place, but countermeasures, jamming, etc. are only getting better.

If RU wanted to, just nuke the UK.

If somebody had a drone army come at us, they may attack us, once.
Lets say its the cartels.

Then a few place B2, B1, B52, F35, F22, etc, etc. would neutralize the shinola out of these places (and production sites).

The chance of 'Merica being invaded is 0.0%

No, they can't.

Our fleet is already evolving and adapting to drone warfare.

They was a movie about a miniaturized submarine doing that via injection. Rick and Morty did a knock-off.

Saronics and Anduril say hi. General Atomics isn't snoozing either.

It will be ugly, but we won't be unarmed.
