re: The DKE closure at LSU is going to stay ugly for a while.

Sorry man. If you can’t choose between participating or walking away from ridiculous shite at 18 or 19, I’m not giving you any sympathy. Being stupid is a legit excuse. So are the results of being stupid. They weren’t held against their will. They chose to participate. Might have been some immature, twisted, stupid shite. But they participated. I’m not buying the whole “poor me, I’m a victim cause I was coerced.”
Under your argument Charles Manson was an innocent man and Hitler was just fine. All they did was talk to people and coerce. They didn't actually physically do anything. Lots of crimes, like fraud for example, only work under the method of coercion. This isn't a particularly special case. There's some reason that you are defending deplorable behavior. I wonder what it is.

that no longer seems true based on the low rent PI lawyer who's their alumni president.

I grew up with several LSU DKEs from New Orleans and while most of them are alright guys, I have met some others who act like they are God’s gift to man because they survived the “torture” of DKE’s hazing.

Word is the kid was trying to bring his whole DKE pledge class to help reinstate Sigma Chi.
Whoa. History repeats itself, as Sigma Chi was started in 1855 by DKE’s expelled from their Miami Ohio chapter. They were kicked out because they would not blindly follow their chapter president’s orders to support an unworthy member’s application into a literary society, a big deal in the 1800’s.
I’ll bet Sigma Chi nationals ate that up.

One of the kids involved in this graduated the other day, so LSU presumably opted not to pursue any internal disciplinary action.

Well that's a little excessive.
And a sure sign that oil prices are low.

LOL you're trying to make 18 year olds who probably don't know each other into best friends with stories they'll tell for decades
Let's not overthink it

sounds like somebody at the Advocate got cut during rush and never got invited to any parties...
Posted on 5/16/19 at 5:12 pm to Duckhammer_77
DKE couldn't pay people to come their parties while I was at LSU. A bunch of homoerotic weirdos in a room trying to see who can make everyone else the most uncomfortable. One of my buddies who was a DKE always ended up at our parties instead.

I thought only black frats branded each other.

So the DKEs are now Hitler and Manson? Got it.
Thought Trump was Hitler?
Swing and a miss kid. Try again.

I gotta say using Mike Small to clean up an episode of college dumbassery is like using an elephant gun to kill a mosquito. He usually defends major felonies and white collar charges, and he don't work cheap.

Two members of LSU's now-closed Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity who were arrested earlier this year on hazing counts graduated this month from the university, despite criminal cases that remain unresolved, potentially making irrelevant any disciplinary action the university could take against them.

. Michael Small, the Alexandria-based attorney who is representing Brakenridge, said Brakenridge received an April 17 letter after his SAA hearing that said LSU found he violated school rules related to his hazing arrest. The letter said Brakenridge would be suspended for one year -- starting May 12. But Brakenridge was already on track to graduate May 10.

Mike is known for death penalty cases. I was at the table when he told the client he would require a $100,000 retainer. This kids family either knows him really well or is loaded.

AGR moved to Sorority Row a couple of buildings down from the LSU Foundation building.
