In a million years, today's McDonald's french fries will look exactly the same.

et's get down to brass tacks. Does this mean we can clone dinosaurs for a theme park or not?

Well they want to. They want to frick with a chicken's DNA and make a dinosaur. There's a consensus in the science community that chickens are modern day dinosaurs.
They talk about this in the full 60 Minutes interview.

So their bones weren't put here by the devil to test us?

We're going with science this time around?

Langland, I appreciate this. Sometimes it's harder to weed out the retards on this website but you have done it yourself. Godspeed

But if they're finding soft tissue in the fossils maybe it'll solve their problem of not having DNA to clone

if the science in the OP indicates it that way, will you argue against science?

It doesn't.

I read that they had found some actual tissue preserved in amber recently just like in JP.

Not to burst your intellectual high horse bubble, but maybe instead of resolving to petty childish insults you could think about why the soft tissue was found or if it was even really soft tissue at all. Clearly some very well known scientists discovered this and were also shocked. I don't think the age of the earth needs to be addressed.

I think it is at least remotely possible that something is very very wrong with our radiocarbon dating system. It is possible that changes in radioactivity, solar activity, and the strength of our planet's magnetic field could cause the dates to actually be far more recent than indicated. I'm no young earth creationist, and I have not been convinced that this is the case, but I have seen enough to keep an open mind about the possibility.

Do you think radiocarbon dating is the only way we date things?

There are dozens of tests in a variety of ways from tree rings to ice cores to more advanced methods. Every single one corresponds exactly. We know how old things are.

At some point, "keeping an open mind" is just a euphemism for "I don't believe the shite in my science book".

But I have a feeling that's exactly what the OP wants to address.

A strand of DNA already contains all of this information. It's a matter of turning on which parts of it you need at which point in order to get the animal you need. It's known that they've grown chickens with tails and teeth. Supposedly they kill these specimens immediately for ethical reasons. That having been said you have to wonder what we don't know about.

That's not how half-life decay works.

I could never worship a God who was so insecure he demanded that I ignore irrefutable scientific evidence as a condition of my faith.
