Had an appt for extractions. After all of the extra bullshite of getting a tablet and filling out all these stupid questions on Covid and if I had a fever and they took my temp.
I only got one tooth extracted. I am a big chicken shite suddenly at dentists because of past medical and dental frick ups. So I am on a xanax AMA. LOL no forget that.
I will take my tylenol3 and do an AMA.
Everyone wore masks they had this big arse air blowing machine to purify the air when I had to take my mask off to get the needle and extraction.
The nurses told my husband I was a riot-I don't know why.
Any dentists here, I have a question?
That is all.
I love xanax.

I had to pay a $15 PPE fee when I went. They are charging that per person. All the same steps you mentioned. Also Had to swish special mouthwash before anyone would touch me. They made me clean my mouth before they cleaned my mouth, in essence.

Did the dentist give you his "special filling'?

Dental procedures aerosolize your saliva, which is a sure for easy to spread CoVid.

I love you, thanks. Okay my last visit awhile ago I go this fancy arse xray where I stand up it was 3d or something better. So today they said they want to do 3d xrays and I was like, oh I had those come on do I need it again.
They are extracting a lot of teeth (just one today) for implants; and she took the regular cardboard box in mouth hurting xrays --and-- some white probe thing in my mouth 3D Xrays (Which was different to the surround like 3D Xrays already taken months ago)
They are pulling the teeth. WHY do they need all the damn Xrays? NEVER has an XRay shown what the problem was for me. Let's say my root cracks and they charge me the surgical fee. It is what it is, the tooth goes in the trash-- why all the Xrays?
It pads the bill you can tell me. But you will say it covers your butt for blah blah blah rare things, right?

Many insurances are paying this now. Enough to where I'm just billing it instead of collecting from the patient.

yep...what's your question?

Yep, our fees for our practice for masks are now an extra 60,000 a year!! But I have a big practice with 5 doctors, 8 hygienists, and 8 assistants.

Well the 3D X-ray is great for planning implants but sometimes you need to supplement them with other intra oral shots for specific reasons. Example, bite wings are good in visualizing tooth decay between the teeth, 3D not so much. If I have to do this I probably wouldn’t charge for the bws.

The 3d scan shows where certain nerves are in relation to the teeth that need to be extracted. You cant tell that with a single plane xray. If the nerve is close, and he damages it during your ext, you will not be happy.
Doc can explain it better than me.

ask the dentist if they were following univeral precautions before all the garbage..
(if they say no then find a new dentist)
..ask what is the purpose of this "special mouthwash..
and again, if they were following universal precautions, then why were hey not following it before(if it actually doing anything?)
maybe ask your dentist if there are ANY reported cases of covid spreading in aerosols?
...maybe even ask if there he/she can cite any piece of literature..and any study..at any time...that supports ANYTHING they are doing differently?

Need x-rays to see where one of the major nerves are that can cause permanent paresthesia/numbness to your face (if extracting a lower tooth). and if it is an upper we need to see where your maxillary sinus is, especially if placing an implant. If we were to just place an implant in your sinus that would be bad...X-rays are SUPER important. It is like asking a doctor to tell you what organ your cancer is in without taking imaging.
