definitely need a pano for Oral surgery
i agree. for just extractions a pano is standard of care.
for implants a CBCT is standard of care. It depends on if you are doing a lateral sinus lift or an indirect bump

I floss.
I have reasons for my bad teeth that if I explained gets far too complicated.

What size Xanex did they give you?

with all due respect..
a Cone Beam CT Scan is not what a "3D pano" is?
and please educate on the vastly different things a cone beam CT scan shows...compared to a pano?
i ask as someone that at times placed ~50-70 implants/month...for 10-15 years (i dont do as much wet dentistry.. but i do still pay the bills/buy equipment for all our practices)

You are aware that CDC did make additional guidelines for dealing with infection control during this pandemic.

This.

I never said that. I thought you said a pano is 3D. A panoramic x-ray is a 2D film. That is all I said.
CBCT software can create a 2D pano...is that what you are saying?

Are most dentists doing their own 3D printing for dentures and such now or are they farming it out?

Decades ago when I got my wisdom teeth out I was knocked out. When I came around I started hitting on the hotbox assistant.

Yeah, don't think we're getting an answer on pricing.

Why does anything cost what it does?

I have no clue what any of ya'lls pano bano talk means. I wasn't really being a cheap arse watching all the damn Xrays and questioning. it is because I truly am not used to my dental insurance being as good as it is. so if they want to pad the bill and insurance pays I don't care.
My old dentist moved and I was pissed. He did the stand up fancy arse Xray. It loaded on a comptuer and dude could see my sinus cavities. My ENT could have used it.
The thing they did today was a camera white probe thing in my mouth of each angle of the tooth. No one uses the wee mirrors to see anymore?

Most surgeries that take 10-15min can still end up being that expensive and way more...so?

not picking on you..
but i have pet peeve of health care providers regressing to crockery and witchcraft when they feel they simply have to do "something".
chlorhexidine bis road spectrum but primarily efffective again gram+/- bacteria and gram neg fungi.
the mechanism relies on organism uptake of the chlorhexidine..
..if virii are basically free forms of protein coated DNA or RNA..devoid of life processes.
..i'm not sure how the chlorhexine would work.
it is not known to be virucidal.
i know the ADA recommends 1% H2O2 rinse...
..but again.
there is no science behind it.
as far as i know there are zero clinical studies supporting any virucidal effects of ANY pre-procedural rinses (that i'm aware of)

I was at a sons baseball game many moons ago; one of the dads walked up to me and told me I was hilarious. I had never seen this guy in all my life. he was the charge nurse dude in recovery after surgery. As soon as he told me the stuff I said I instantly recalled what I had forgotten. I excempted him from telling me all the crap I said so he wouldn't get in trouble. It was weird. I guess when they pulled the breathing tube out and I coughed I started shaking they gave me blankets and I said some weird arse shite.
