My son loves watching wrestling and I have been showing him old matches from the 90s WWF and WCW. He loves both and is a big fan of the Hogan, Macho Man, and Sting team vs the others. Tonight, I showed him when Hogan leg dropped Macho Man and was the third member of the NWO. My son was devastated and had the same look I had at nine years old when it happened lol. I told him it’s a cruel world out there.

Bobby Heenan almost ruined that moment.

You obviously were too young to see the day when Christopher George “Buck” Robley attacked Ken Mantell in the parking lot. He went from a good guy to a bad guy, earning his nickname -“Yellow Belly Robley. I was sick. That was day Championship Wrestling in LA changed forever.

I’d always wondered if he caught any shite from Bischoff for that line.

Trust me, I’m starting to feel old now that my little cousins are driving and graduating from high school. Hell I feel old now that my son is the same age as I was watching this lol.

I always wondered what happened to Hogan. One day I was watching wrestling and noticed Hogan was dressed in all black with a black beard and I was like WTF. Now I know.

I can't believe he turned his back on all the little Hulksters. He went from telling them to take their vitamins to telling them to eat shite.

That was when Skandor Akbar burnt Hacksaw Jim Duggan in the eye with his cigar.

I’m a huge fan of Mid-South Wrestling, but Mantell’s best days in the territory were before my time. Do you recall his feud with Paul Orndorff? I’ve heard he defaced Orndorff’s ring robe with eggs. Is this true?!

His career took off again because of this.

40s are fricking weird AF, especially if you’ve taken care of yourself (physically, mentally, appearance) and feel very much younger 30s. It’s like 10-15 years just hauled arse on by, except for the time marks like kids being born, kid birthdays etc. If I didn’t have kids I think I’d be a total vampire ghost mentally. Or maybe like Peter Pan.

They weren’t telling commentators the finishes at that point.

Heenan wasn’t intentionally tipping the finish, he was shite-talking Hogan like he had done for years.

Yeah mentally I don't feel any different 3 years after turning 40. The 30s blew the frick by with the first half being the young kids phase followed by the youth sports phase. Now the 20s...so much I would have done differently, like take the time to enjoy the graduation/marriage/new career/babymaking milestones.

As for the topic of the OP's post, it goes as a solid #3. Both Andre turning on Hogan in '87 and then beating him/ giving the MDM the title on TME in '88. I'm sure the generation before me would probably put the Backland-Sheik-Hogan title movement up there too.

WCW's NWO era was good at the time but like the early 90s WWE, it hasn't aged well.
