I'm surprised Trump hasn't pardoned him

So he turned down a plea deal of 12 years and then got 3 life sentences.
I bet Jesus was thinking .... Damn another lemon got through.

I watched a video about a WW2 soldier. His dad died when he was 3, his mom when he was 13. So at 15 years old he lied about his age to join the Army, went to war and had a successful life.
WW2 era guy does what he had to do to survive and be successful. Wig guy makes bad decision and gets on drugs. So I would say drugs caused rainbow wig guys crazy, not the other stuff.

I went as this guy for halloween in the late 90s.
This shows how awful are justice system is, he was punished for exercising his right to a trial.

Not necessarily. Plea deals are often offered to lesser charges that have shorter max sentences (manslaughter v 2nd degree murder) and avoid any risk of the big sentence that might come if you roll the dice on the more serious charge that you’d face at trial. Offers also may include an agreement to not pursue habitual offender enhancement if you take the deal. It may be that turning down the deal means you’re facing potential mandatory sentences or much greater exposure at sentencing.
If you were in a personal injury case, and the defendant offered you $100,000, but you turned it down and went to trial only to have the jury award only $20,000, you wouldn’t have been “punished for exercising your right to a trial”. You just made a bad bet on yourself and lost. Same with most criminal defendants who turn down offers.
The State should have a computer program that sends the defendant a postcard in prison that says, “You’d be going home today if you had taken the deal.”
