If she says from the beginning, oh shite, I thought I had a 3 or even looked surprised when she turned over j4, This wouldn’t be anything. The fact she couldn’t articulate a coherent reasoning outside of “you didn’t have shite” or “I thought you had A high” while also feeling the need to give an explanation is what was weird.

Giving Garrett the money back is strange too. Makes it look very suspicious.

There are a thousand videos on youtube you can watch right now of people powering through jack high and worse in much bigger poker games and tournaments

There is not a way to explain it properly for poker nerds that will appease them.

Luck of the draw, eat shite would be fine.

For the new/non poker players, this j4 call was awful.

Stu Unger once called with 10 high in a tournament and won. He was praised. Sure this lady is no Stu Ungar. But let’s say the situation is reversed and Garrett called with J high. Would there be a lot of praising for him or accusation of cheating?

Also, don’t they delay these broadcasts enough to where you can’t have somebody communicating the hand at play?

Tell me you don’t understand poker without telling me you don’t understand poker.

Some of you clearly don't understand. Let's try to dumb it down for you.

Let's say it's the opening drive of a football game. Opening kick is a touchback, and then the offensive team gets pushed back and ends up backed up to the 5 yard line. It's now 4th and 20. Score is 0-0, in the first quarter, with 13:00 minutes remaining.

That team decides to go for it on 4th down in that exact situation. Could they end up getting the first down? Sure. It doesn't make it completely reckless and stupid.

Watch the video and watch the reaction of not just the player who lost. The announcer is at a loss for words, the players at the table are in absolute shock.

There are times in theory where a 10 high call can be correct. This jack high call isn’t on of those times.

People say weird shite at the poker table all the time. Money and human emotion are involved, it’s to be expected. People often will stay they are 100% confident that they have the losing hand but they call anyway. And sometimes they win the hand. So what people believe and say may not be consistent with wgat they do at the table.

I understand it just fine

Sometimes a horrible play just works because the cards come out right

Crying about it and throwing a tantrum about it is just sad

They are delayed 3ish hours. But you could get real time information in practice from the RFID reader.

No, you may think you do, but your comments suggest otherwise.

It's pretty obvious you're just trolling at this point. I know you're dumb, but no one can be THAT dumb.

I agree, I’m not even saying I think she was cheating. Maybe she was flustered and couldn’t put together anything logical and she’s 100% innocent. Her explanation was just weird and nonsensical. We also have to take into account, this isn’t your local 1/2 game.

No offense. But I mostly play PLO. You can pick my brain at plo strategy and ask about the 270k possible starting hands.

Me too. Its been years since I've played NLHE in a cash setting.

I still know how insane this call is.

I once played in a tournament and was the chip leader with about 30 people left. I think my stack was double anyone else and I'd played about 10 hours at this point. First prize was about $350k. I'm thinking that I have this - get dealt pocket AA - big blind - I'm feeling great. I bet small coming out - other dude goes all in. Pocket 99. a-hole catches a 9 and I lose a good chunk of my stack.

Next hand I get big slick - another player goes all in. I call. I caught nothing. I was out in the blink of an eye. AA then AK and boom - done.
