Which position are you? I'd like to respond with some insults added if I can make it work.

I never said I was good at PLO.

That was probably my 2nd time sitting down at PLO live, too. I may not have been good at PLO but they were shitty at PLO, and bet big. Much more money to be made (which I never accomplished).

I saw somebody accumulate a $50k stack in that PLO game one day (While I was playing 2-5. They had been going from Friday afternoon into Saturday night). Just silly money.

Fair enough.

There is stupid money to be made in PLO. Your jaw would drop if you saw the game we have here. I watched a guy run 13k down to about 5k in the span of an hour. Of course he stacked me when I back raised him with aces and he flopped a straight draw.

And it runs 3 nights a week. I'm saving money to make a real run at it.

I watched a Vietnamese hooker drop $5k in about 30 minutes once. She just couldn't help herself and would buy back for $1k each time

It's 100% not forced in poker. It's a shorthand to cover a lot of info quickly. Here's how I'd take notes on a hand: KhKd BU, 2 limps, open 40, 3 to flop. A86hhs, X's to me, x/b. Turn Ks, BB b100, 1 call, b500, BB snaps. River 2c, BB AI 300, call. V1 has A8s. Looks like a bunch of nonsense, but I guarantee someone here can play that hand back and know exactly what I meant.

BB should’ve put it all in after you raised on turn. Charge your draws and worst Ax’s. He can’t fold, especially after putting in 500 on turn. Stack to pot ratio was .25. Is this a $2/$5 hand?

So, bluffing isn't really necessary most of the time. Its a lesson I always forget when I want to play "correct".

Exactly. There's plenty of times when I know what the "right" play is, but don't make it.

In the kind of games I play in, bluffing isn't even necessary. I can make money simply by employing basic strategy and waiting out poor play. I'm no Mike Caro, but I'll also pick up a tell or two along the way that helps me out.

Doesn't mean I won't bluff at all. I'll take a shot if I have good position and sense weakness. Most amateur players chasing a draw will fold like a cheap tent if they don't catch it; they won't even consider pot odds. They could easily push me out by re-raising me, but that rarely ever happens.

Yeah, that was dumb.

I didn't even think about it really. Just making something up to demonstrate the point. But of course I won the imaginary hand anyway.

If only poker was that easy. Turning the nuts vs 2 pair and a flush draw then them bricking out. But AA is the nuts not represented the way preflop was played

Great work, bro. You proved it all. I totally thought you stole the gold against Texas Dolly.

Every once in a while it is thankfully. More often it's a drudge though.

Like in rounders where he bluffed Chan that 1 time and knew he was good enough to play the highest stakes.

Had a night a couple weeks ago where I literally just had it every time or they folded when I bluffed. Those nights are fun.
