re: The COVID pandemic was the dumbest thing I’ve ever experienced.

Of all the stupid things we were made to do, at the top of my list was having to carry a letter in my car stating I was an "essential employee" in case I got pulled over by the cops. Governor Mee Maw really shite the bed on that one. Alabama's State Health Director held more power than anyone in the State, at that time. I'm convinced that if he said we should all wear pink skirts "to stop the spread", her old arse would've called a press conference to announce it.

For me, I lost a whole lotta intellectual respect for a whole lotta people. And, most people today can’t admit they were wrong. It’s crazy.
My parents are older and were vaccine lovers at first. They finally woke up and don’t get any of the “vaccine boosters” or other nonsense any more. This tells me they know the “vaccines” are not good for you, but they will never admit they were wrong.

Worst part was the condemnation of anyone questioning anything. I’m fearful this laid the groundwork for future situations like this.
What’s equally scary (to me anyway) is as someone mentioned earlier, there is a substantial amount of folks that are ok with giving control of their lives to the government.

It was a great way for me to eliminate people from my everyday life. Still haven't welcomed most of them back.
The common theme of those who welcomed the authoritative regulations were over educated white people predominantly liberal. The wives were allowed to run the household at the time.
It truly separated the strong men from the boys.
Also, it showed how many doctors truly chased profit over health. So many made so much from the pandemic.

Don't forget cops chasing that lone jogger on a deserted beach

I see it as a dress rehearsal for authoritarianism. They made the wrong bet, and now people are coming back to their senses.
It was absolutely an attempt at a modern technological revolution by the powers that be. Testing and flexing their newly developed and efficient propaganda machine with social media on a global scale. And they almost pulled it off. Unfortunately for them Americans proved again that they are willing to bend but don’t break. And when pushed we tend to galvanize and fight for freedom and common sense. It’s literally in the founding blood and spirit of this country.
The rest of the world wasn’t so lucky.
But I absolutely agree that it was the dumbest thing and thank God we have codified freedom of speech in this country because as hard as it was to sort through and as overwhelming as the propaganda was, in America we were still able to get different opinions and facts out. We were still able to see stories about the truth behind the vaccines, and the stupidity of masking, and the complete ineffectiveness of social distancing and it allowed us to slowly but surely build pockets of resistance and common sense that eventually broke through. Without the founding principles this country has built into its DNA, we’d probably be living under some sort of dystopian one world automation technocratic regime.
But we pulled through. It’ll be a long rough road to undo the damage done and the corruption exposed from waking up. Americans got lazy the last couple decades. Life has been good and we quit paying attention. We’re awake now.
As much as it has become a meme or a trope we do have the constitution. And because of it, we are the most free nation on earth. We are allowed to openly criticize and question our government. And because of that constitution, every citizen in this county is allowed to arm themselves just incase the government tries to take away that first right.
To sum up: I think covid reminded and encouraged an entire generation of people who took America and her constitution for granted why we should never ever take it for granted and how important it is to remain vigilant and pay attention to what the government is doing.

But we never hear about it in the press these days.
Funny you bring this up because just yesterday I was listening to local sports radio in Oklahoma City. Cale Gundy (brother of Mike) was a coach at OU during that time. He's now doing radio.
Anyway, for whatever reason, he brought up that topic. He said his family went to their lake house and just stayed there for 6 months. So did everyone else who owned lake houses. He said it was like Spring Break every day. People boating and partying and whatnot. Like Covid did not even exist.

My favorite part about Covid was that it was somehow not able to be spread at the BLM rallies in the summer of 2020.

I was working a project in Malaysia which had a complete lock down for 16 weeks. I could go to the grocery store or a doctor or hospital. Everything else besides government offices were forced to close. Was not able to go home for 11 months. I could leave the country but not come back which meant I would be unemployed. Definitely the weirdest time of my life. Never again.

The government’s MKUltra program will have a massive willing crop of psychos when the kids who were barricaded into their homes in solitude for years with mentally unstable insane parents grow up.

I would not take the shot. Had a friend tell me I wasn't doing my duty to society. Lost a lot of respect of him that day.

That is easy to explain. All members of BLM are immune.

Old people dieing alone in hospitals.
Grandparents denied their last few visits from their families before death.
Children told not to go outside.
Parents threatened with jail or worse for not injecting their children.
People losing their jobs for voicing their concerns about experimental medicine.
The government declaring freedom of speech doesn’t apply to speech critical of the government.
People told they’re not allowed to gather.
Small businesses forced to shutter.
Schools shut down.
Families split up.
Churches told they can’t hold service.
Politicians declaring their power supersedes your rights.
Half this country calling for physical violence against anyone who won’t fall in line.
Open violent riots burning cities encouraged by the government.
“Protests” accords the country with coincidentally the same signage and color tents and pallets of bricks.
It was insanity and it was so embarrassing and so ridiculous we all memory holed as soon as we woke up like some sort of ashamed addict who hit sobriety.
I mean look at these photos and tell me we didn’t live through the most absurd time in human history:

Wow, tell me you’ve never left the US without telling me…
I was here in the Netherlands for the whole pandemic, this country has and had (the most uniform while not overt) anti-masking stance in the world - i.e. in the US it was polarized and split between maskers and anti-maskers, here a substantial majority of the population were firmly but not loudly anti-masks (most would simply not follow mask mandates and whenever mask mandates were dropped workers in stores would yell to entering customers donning masks that it was no longer required, as if they were deeply offended by the masks - the only people that were obnoxious about masking were left leaning American expats).
There were plenty of anti-lockdown protests and riots as well, and in most of Europe free speech is also protected.
The rest of the world not still being in lockdown is through the will of the various countries’s people and the (often begrudging) volition of their respective governments, not by virtue of the US having first seen the light or whatever warped image you’re trying to paint here, JFC
