How'd it go down when you left, just curious

First job hire we have had in 4 years because we are busy as hell and need more help. The current staff has been here for close to a decade so you are wrong with your smart arse remark

If you don't think I spent the entire weekend applying to other jobs, you are out of your mind.

I understand it and I've worked 115 hours in a week once in the last year. And no I'm not exaggerating there. But for the most part, I think I've been better off later in my career not changing jobs a lot.

I have more vacation and probably make more than I could negotiate on the open market. Granted I'm 23 years into my career.

Do today's young people actually think that it is impressive to show companies where they are trying to find a job how many different jobs they have been able to squeeze in within the past couple of years?

Resumes should have the 3 most relevant jobs you've ever held relative to the position you're applying for. Nothing more, nothing less. 3 jobs with 3-4 bullet points describing your role and accomplishments.

However...

As more and more companies take away benefits, retirement, etc. company loyalty is out the window and it's exactly what they deserve. Pay people who do good work or they leave. Simple as.

Probably, but don’t most large companies have a years of credit:vacation days ratio and they will credit you your tenure at other companies?

Don’t be so sure of this. I thought so too, but hearing numbers people are leaving for and rumors, now it’s just rumors, of what other positions are offering, and boy was I off.

SIAP, but I think they are getting paid until the DCFS paperwork catches up with HR and the garnishments start

You don’t give people PTO, benefits or 401k until they’ve been there 3 years?

What good does staying at a lower wage job for over a year get you? Most of those kinds of jobs have almost no room for growth

Seriously? Time to find something better then because the promised raises never came.

I can sure as hell pass a drug test though

Friend,

Uncle and Father met similar struggles when they would hire for the family business. Mother never toiled on those decisions as she knew the work of the Lord did not toil over the number of jobs on one’s resume.

Forget not Matthew Chapter 20 vs 1-16.

Yours,

I was very upfront and telling the candidate that we were not interested in getting someone trained up within our systems to just leave in a year or two.

Curious what the pay range is for this position.

Yeah, I'm pretty certain about it. I've had offers in the past 5-6 years and they were all less than I make now unless I want to move my family out of state. And I have 6 weeks of PTO

Different strokes I guess. I do think it's beneficial to move around when you are young and settle down a bit at some point. I'm certainly no champion of big corporations either though.

Yes. They also kick in $5k/year for child care and other benefits. Signing bonus as well.

As I recall the place was starting around $15 or 16 five or six years ago. Without the child care and certainly no signing bonus.
