What are their prices like? Is there anything I need to know before going check them out in person or will that be a waste of time?

No, I couldn't. Apparently I wasn't good enough to make the cut.

You can look up the violation history of all the daycare centers online. Some of them are eye opening. Wife and I crossed quite a few off the visit list just from some brief internet searching. I’d recommend you start there.

AIM is right down the street and well worth the cost.

Going in person is so you can answer questions that you aren't allowed to ask.

My SO's little girl goes there and she really likes it. I do know there is a long waiting list to get in. Believe she waited for a year before she was able to go.

Sorry thats all I got.

Waiting lists are weird. Alot of people get on multiple waiting lists and then take the first that opens up. Which means when they say there's a year waiting list, it usually isn't that long.

You may be the 20th person on the list, but 15 of those people ahead of you are going to end up going to another daycare which means you are really 5th on the list.

If all the daycare waiting lists were really a year long, one of the corporate places like Primrose or Sunshine would slap up another location to meet demand.

It’s not the top tier of daycares but not many are. It’s much better than others in the area and they are all about the same price depending on the age of kid ($170-190 per week). We had a few bad daycares and some teachers left to go to Color Wheel. The turnover is the biggest issue. One week you’ll love the teacher and the next she is gone and you’re stuck with an idiot.

My son went there for pre-k 4 and it was $135/week.
I was satisfied with it and didn't have any problems. There was one instructor/teacher there that pissed some parents off the way she acted but she didn't last long so the owner does listen to parents complaints and investigates them.

Better check to make sure they provide equal teaching time to all colors. Otherwise I wouldn't even bother.

No clue the details of the waiting list. I just know she was on one for a year.

This. Plus ask people you know etc. There is a place in p-ville, pretty sure not color wheel, that got some violations. Also if there’s a lot of turnover it says something. Not sure what but something. Hardly any turnover at my kids daycare.

Why do people want teachers at daycare?

My kids went there, AIM and Gateway. We preferred Gateway and Aim over color wheel. Gateway is a good but more expensive than the other two.

My kids were at Color Wheel on 44 for awhile, then went to Corban in P-Ville, now at Gateway on 73. I thought the CW on 44 was run very well. Not a lot of staff turnover, good curriculum for early toddlers, and good managers. It's one family that runs them all so I'd imagine the one on 73 is much of the same. Corban started off pretty good, but it was a shite show by the time we pulled our kids last year. The pricing is similar at all three. Maybe $5-$10 dollars difference by age group.

My wife worked in an office near there a few years ago. She would always see the workers out back smoking. That's not something I would want a baby to deal with, cigarette smoke on their clothes.
