Was talking to a friend on the phone a little while ago and he wants to get into a newer truck from his 2011 F150. He stopped at a used lot to look at a 2018 F150 Platinum. It had 100k miles and they wanted $36k for it. He promptly drove off.

Holy shite! That’s insane for a Sequoia.

I had one come through my FB feed for $109K. Granted, it was loaded, but that's pants-on-head retarded.

This Sequoia is nothing like the old one. There are cheaper ones, only two models should get that expensive and they are the Capston and TRD Pro.

That’s more than the Land Cruiser used to cost.

Do they make a 360 month finance option?

Never say no, just not yet.

I recently read that home mortgages now have a 40 year option.

quote:

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — This week the Federal Housing Administration gave the OK to 40-year mortgages. It's a move designed to try and make it easier for first-time home buyers.

"If it helps people get into a house, it's a good thing," Sonsire Gonzalez, a real estate agent in Port St Lucie, said.

The idea is to reduce monthly mortgage payments, which have been rising as mortgage rates go up.

Redfin.com reports over the last year, the average mortgage payment has risen 30% to a record $2,563 a month.

"Forty-year mortgage stretches out that payment over a longer period of time, so it makes for a lower payment, which is what a lot of buyers need right now," Gonzalez said.

Bankrate.com recently compared 30- and 40-year mortgages and found on a $312,000 loan at 6.85% interest, the monthly payments were $2,044 for 30 years and $1,904 for 40 years.

quote:

The extra 10 years also added more interest, close to $170,000 more, but in the short term, experts said it can make a difference, especially since many homeowners hardly stay in one house for 30 or 40 years.

Oh I know, Toyota of Dallas has them even higher.

There are a few Toyota dealers that will do MSRP orders around here I have heard, but it goes back to Toyota is still having major supply chain issues for some reason. They are the only big manufacture to have negative YoY sales because of production still.

Drove by the local Ford dealer on Sunday. They have (5) 2022 F150's each with a Black Widow package for around $100K if you need one.

Yeah, Ford seems to be catching up on 2022 models now that its 2023. They even want to give you a $1,500 rebate to buy a year old car.

I was just talking to my brother about the car market over the weekend. He’s been shopping for his daughter who is about to turn 16 and he’s ruled out any type of SUV/crossover because prices are so ridiculous. He said the odd thing is he is finding Lexus sedans cheaper than Accords and Camrys. Maybe a supply thing?

I’m going to drive mine until it costs more to repair than it’s worth.

I have been casually pricing used trucks for my kid. Was wanting smaller truck 5-7 years old with around 100k miles. Insane prices

.

And most of them are missing the chips for electronic add ons like 360 security, heated steering wheel, and heated massage seats.

If people had impulse control, the car market would return to normal a lot faster.

I could afford to spend more but I have a hard time spending a lot of money on cars when every time you start it you lose money

Here is your problem. If you can afford more step up and get what you want/need and stop letting a renewable product (money) dictate your life.

I just got a timing belt replaced for the first time on any vehicle I’ve ever owned.
