At some point, surveillance footage will reveal what happened.
In the interim, let's focus on protecting the Country.

You can't be serious. It was 100% about Orlando. You know it, I know it, and anyone who can read knows it. It doesn't make any sense in your "context"
From my OP:
quote:
What's amazing to me is that in these mass shooting situations no one ever attacks the shooter.
Your response:
quote:
Or they were killed trying
My response:
quote:
Doesn't appear so in this situation.
This situation = mass shootings
Your sarcastic response:
quote:
Good to see we have so many heroes on here that would have easily ended these killings
My response:
quote:
Sorry that I offended your delicate self. Maybe you should come up with your own solution as of what to do in a mass shooting situation instead of being a jackass.
There's no mention of Orlando until:
quote:
Tell me more about how you would have instantly grasped what was going on in a crowded club, where many have said they thought the gunshots were part of the music, gone against the crowd and confusion of mass hysteria it creates, and disarmed the shooter without him taking you out first.
Because you misinterpreted my post. And I do agree, it does make it sound like I was referencing Orlando. I didn't mean to though. I was not intending to specifically mention it and come off as insensitive.

This is CLEARLY referencing Orlando baw
Just sad.

Nope. Never mentioned Orlando. Just generically talking about mass shootings. Try again tomorrow.

By using a very specific term in and specifically mentioning "this".
I guess "your kind" can't even stick with their word.
In all seriousness, you should take some personal info off the net

I'm going to Hell for this one but... well, here it is:

have our survival skills kick in and take action instead of immediately dialing 911
For most people, this means cry and call 911

I know the situation is different from a nightclub in the dark, but the three American guys stopped a gunman on a train in Europe last year. They were military or had been in the military.

Yea, a quick Google search shows that it has happened in the US too. Not sure where he got his facts from:
There are also stories from the movie theater shooting of people taking bullets for their loved ones and trying to protect them.
quote:
The intervention of another student, Chris Mintz, 30, a U.S. Army combat veteran who served in Iraq, may have played a key role in preventing a higher casualty toll.
As the gunman moved toward an adjoining classroom, Mintz tried to stop him, according to Jamie Skinner, Mintz's former girlfriend and the mother of their 6-year-old son. The gunman opened fire, striking Mintz.
On the ground bleeding, Mintz pleaded with the shooter, telling him it was his son's birthday, but the gunman fired additional rounds, Skinner recounted, adding that the gunman then changed direction and entered a different room.

Not all of us are naive 19yr old punks. Some of us have been in "crisis situations" far worse than a single Muskim with an AR.
But I understand the point you're making. And no matter how well trained you are, until you've been in these shite situations you really have no idea how you will react.

Those guys on Flight 93 took action. That's how its done. "Let's Roll".
I can't remember, how do we know what happened on Flight 93 including that now iconic quote? They were on their phones.

how does a club of 300+ let one guy do all that damage?

I understand what the OP is getting at and it makes sense. One shooter in a small place seems like 300+ people they would be able to get to him.
But the thing I really do not understand about all of this is, you not taking into account that "NOBODY" in that bar was thinking of this about to happen.
I would not know a gun shot at first in a club playing 3 different types of music and probably being drunk or high.
I personally do not know what I would do, I would probably try to get out or take cover. If I had to take cover and the shooter is still walking around killing people. I would hope I would fight back when he got close to me. But then again having not ever been in that situation I have no idea how I would react.
If it were to protect my family I would die trying.

And now we have the wife saying she knew about it. Talk about a bystander.

You are the worst kind of person. You aren't some macho man because you claim you'd go all John Wayne on a lunatic with a gun when in a loud, dark, crowded club with flashing lights. Get over yourself.
Posted on 6/14/16 at 10:53 am to Nativebullet
What you are describing isn't necessarily the "bystander effect".
Look it up.
Look it up.
Posted on 6/14/16 at 11:13 am to rmnldr
How many types of gunshots would you have them listen to?
A shotgun sounds different than a 45 revolver, which sounds different than an AR-15, which sounds different than a AK47, which sounds different than a silenced 9mm (which ironically only cuts about 30 decibels).
You are also fighting Occams Razor. In a club, it is a billion times more likely a car backfired or some sort of fireworks went off. If everyone always acted like that was an active shooter, you'd have mass panic on your hands and people would be trampled on a semi regular basis.
Yes, in a vacuum, everyone in mass attacking the active shooter is probably the ideal outcome. That being said, you are forgetting/ignoring human nature. There is a reason the army has tons and tons of training before they put people in harms way.
