Never spend your principle. Invest it in something that has value and can be resold (real estate, etc.)

If your stock drops really far then sell that shite before it drops any further. Then when stock prices are high (and therefore valuable) buy it back.

I take solace in the fact that however rich he is, he's probably lost half or more of his wealth in the last 7 months or so.
