Has Houston started complaining yet about all the Livingston / EBR trash causing problems in their perfect communities ?

Not saying he was pure, but he at least took a shot at cleaning up corruption in his first term.
Whether it was the allure of easy income or necessity to maintain his lifestyle is up for debate.
The biggest Nagin scandal no one remembers is onee that never came to fruition, fortunately. When Nagin proposed renovating Municipal Auditorium, the contract managed to cram in favors for his cronies. He earmarked millions in "consulting" fees for his personal photographer, a well known POS and hustler in the french quarter. The budget for the project became $80 million after Nagin included favors for his friends and it looked unlikely that FEMA would reimburse for most of it. Fortunately the city's IG blew the whistle on how brazenly corrupt it was and the council but the brakes on it. That would have been far worse than what he actually went to prison for.

I'm pretty sure Mitch refused for the city to pay for the security at Jazzland
That is true. Nagin agreed for the city to pay those costs, but Landrieu didn't keep to that promise. However, the Industrial Development Board (which is appointed by the city council and Mayor) will be out of funds for the site as of this year. My guess is that it will fall on the city at that point. The cost is $14,000 per month for security over there. Now that is pissing money away.

What figures are you looking at? Just pure property damage? Total economic impact?
ETA: I think the 2016 floods are about 10% of the property damage that Katrina brought
Either way the damage on the MS coast and Nola was a far greater number than the BR floodings

Mitch didn't create them,
Man I saw Mitch outside with a sledgehammer two weeks ago uptown just pounding away laughing with a sinister smile on his face.

n the US I believe Sandy is the worst and the flooding in Livingston,EBR, and around lafayette last August were more costly than Katrina.
No, Katrina is the worst natural disaster by far in U.S. history financially and property-damage wise. People could not return to the city or surrounding areas for over a month. The economic loss of the whole city being shut down that long was huge as well.

I have a feeling the land will quickly be sold as that date nears
