re: The amount of time and resources that go into lawn maintenance is very high

I’m lucky that I always have extra chemicals laying around at the farm so my yard maintenance is taken care of on the herbicide and insecticide part of it.

But, it’s ridiculous how much the average guy is getting arse fricked when they buy their chemicals from Walmart, Ace Hardware, or Tractor Supply.

Example is RoundUp . I pay around $40 for a 2.5 gallon jug of RoundUp at local seed/chemical/fertilizer supplier. The same exact formulation in the same exact jug is $100 at Tractor Supply.

We have a new house and are doing hardscapes. Large rocks and rock “rivers” plants that are hardy and deer resistant.

Fairly valuable Id assume, but apparently bot as valuable as the 30 mins a week it takes the typical person to mow the typical city lot, or the literal 5 mins it takes to mow the two strip front lawns in the cookie cutter neighborhoods. If someone has 5 acres of landscaped rural land then I can certainly see the time commitment it takes being a burden, but then again why would a baw buy 5 acres of scaped land if they dont enjoy doing yardwork? I suppose the same baw that buys an F-250 but doesnt own a trailer or camper and only uses his 4 wheel drive bi-annualy.

The going rate in my neighborhood is $100 a month. This guy that owns like 4 zero turns and a bunch of weed eaters comes in and wipes out 5 or 6 blocks in a day.

I said to hell with that. I control my fence line and what not with a band of chemical and I bought the smallest riding mower that Husquavarna makes. I just cut mine a couple days after the neighborhood gets cut and everything is right in my world. 12 out of 14 days my yard needs cutting the least.
