Happened to me this week
Kid texting on his cell went from oncoming to my lane. Fortunately went into the T at the intersection before he looked up. Could easily have been the end of old Cheese Grits except I slowed down and was wearing my seat belt, the kid was not.

I travel 140 miles up and down I35 between Austin and Fort Worth several times a month and it is absolutely mind boggling the amount of people clueless traveling 80mph.

All the damn time, and everywhere. The worst I’ve seen: 7yo kid sitting on “dad’s” lap doing 75+ mph, while dad is watching his phone sitting on the center console.

States pass all these distracted driver laws while every vehicle made these days has an ipad built into the center console.

People are addicted to their phones.
When you learn what 'addiction' really means you'll see it's going to get much worse not better

Makes me glad the bulk of my commute is in a place with no cell phone service. Still doesn't alter wildly confident contractors trying to haul arse on a two-lane river canyon road in poor conditions. Someone dies a couple times a year, usually.
