What makes the story of Rhodesia even worse is that the western world, with the exception of Israel and Portugal, actively *sanctioned* the country and did not recognize it as legitimate.

Jimmy Carter, and particularly that shitbag Andrew Young, actively undermined what should have been the most natural ally the US ever had. Rhodesia's UDI was almost verbatim the Declaration of Independence, and was borne from the same spirit as 1776.

What could have been. Southern Africa, particularly the Big 4 of Namibia, Botswana, Rhodesia, and South Africa, could have been a massive light in the Southern Hemisphere.

Instead, only Botswana and Namibia have their shite together, and the other two have active genocides.

Roads? Railways? Move to where trade is possible?

Africa is pretty big. Not many good places to land boats?

He's right. Natural harbors are a big deal in building a nation. Africa lacks them in a big way. CONUS has more natural harbors and navigable miles of rivers than all of Africa and S America combined IIRC.

The USA success was built on the back of a navigable Miss River watershed and the most and best natural ports on the planet earth.

One of the main reasons, besides brainpower, that Africa is retarded in their advancement is they have very few ports or navigable rivers for the whole of the continent.

True story. It's one of the reasons Cape Town became what it is. The coast of Namibia is called the Skeleton Coast due to its prevalence of shipwrecks. Even Walvis Bay, the only decently sized port in Namibia, is a tiny town in comparison to what it could be, and exists out of necessity.

Africa lacks decent harbors, and its rivers are largely impassible. It's why the railroad infrastructure was so vital.
