I've seen people literally come to al
stop amd take a left onto the Interstate with traffic going 70 mph. Also the opposite, break, break and break to slow down before entering the deceleration lane to exit as opposed to slowing down on the DEceleration lane. That habit alone causes backups down the interstate for miles.

My wife does this and it drives me absolutely crazy. She fkn stops waiting for it to be completely fkn clear. Im yelling you cant fkn stop you're going to get us killed.

Honorable mention: people who slow down almost completely before getting in a center turn lane, especially those who leave their arse end in the lane of travel waiting to turn.

Exactly. Merging etiquette goes both ways, expecting the merging car to be going faster than traffic is stupid.
Hey I’m going five miles over the speed limit trying to merge and a car is accelerating up to get by my side. It’s equivalent to not passing in the left lane.

Yes and no. Had this discussion with a traffic engineer and was told that during periods of heavy traffic it is designed to zipper traffic. Studies have shown traffic moves more efficiently through congestion when cars drive to the end of the merge and zipper in from that point as opposed to wherever they see a spot.
