Yes, I am working from home, I'm not a stay at home mom.

People may not like that, but just because I am home does not mean I have the time to teach him what he needs to be learning or give him the social interaction he loves. I'm not just doing data entry. I have legit job that requires focus and a lot of phone calls since we all work remotely.

I work 5:30-4 M-Th and 5:30-2 Fri. I've had an office job (Draftsman) for the last 9 years and never had to be in later 6.

I think work colleagues that know they have your full attention during conference calls will like that.

I always wondered how parents that work from home and don’t send kids to daycare managed that.

Meh, some jobs don't require phone calls and immediate responses to emails. So you can keep your child home and then work when they sleep.

That is not how my job is. I need to be available during insurance hours.

ETA: It is nice when he comes home from daycare and I'm not busy and I can hang out. Extra time with Brooks is an added bonus of working at home even if he is in daycare.

I get yelled at if I take a 15 minute lunch. My boss said the state requires you to take a full lunch. Why?
I'm betting you live in a right to work state.

Something, something, labor unions.

If you only take a 15 minute break, it's required under federal law to be paid. The hour is saving your employer money.

Worked ER for years, was usually 10-12 hour shifts... moved to high acuity urgent care and now either work 8-4/5 or 11/12-8... of course I rarely get out at 8 if closing because people can’t help but come in at 7:45 or even 7:59 and then try to apologize that they kept us their until after 9:00. I might get a 5 minute lunch to shove something down

I work in Louisiana. Why is the state so concerned that I get a lunch yet it's an At Will job where they can let you go at any time? That's not looking out for the worker.

Now that we have cell phones and laptops, why does anyone need to go to an office?

7-7:30ish to 3-3:30ish

Although that's just what works best for me. I can more or less set my hours how i please as long as my work is getting done.
