This x 1000!
I never saw an aerobics competition, but I can assure you that me and my friends would have howled with laughter at those men’s uniforms and those moves.
There’s no doubt that aerobics was quite the rage in the 1980’s, though. You could take an aerobics class for a PE credit at LSU back then, and lots of guys (but mostly women) took the class.
It was an intense workout. My girlfriend talked me into joining her class and it kicked my butt. She liked that she was more coordinated than me and was better at a physical workout than me - and she was.
I liked that I got to workout with some hot women who thought I was cute whenever I struggled with the dance moves.

spinning was the same thing about a decade ago, I can't say about today, I've had my own gym at home since then.

Ah, the 1980s, back when women were women and men were women.
All hair was finely quaffed and spandex was acceptable.

I'm embarrassed to have lived through the 70s

We totally wore high cut bodysuits and tights to Spectrum on Monterrey in the late 80s.
You can not wear those outfits if you have any body fat.
At least we were in bikini body shape.

The aerobics shite really started getting traction amongst females around ‘82 or ‘83. There were several national chains that opened hundreds of aerobics studios in every town across the US. I never took part in the classes at any of them but I did get to know some of the instructors.
The type of aerobic training women did then yields a nice physiology of nice definition without huge muscle development. Just what the doctor ordered for my personal taste.
I can tell you from personal experience that the ‘80s were a good decade to be a heterosexual man.

Ever wanted to see the video all those weird aerobics gifs came from?
Take out the dudes and it would be a lot hotter.

There was a thread on the fark board a few years ago that made about 50 gifs of that video

How do you "win" at aerobics? Like "most sweat" or something like that?

Posted on 5/8/19 at 8:02 am to JohnnyKilroy
Yeah, that was a thing of the 80’s I like to forget...
Thanks for the reminder...

I remember my mom working out to Jane Fonda VHS tapes in the living room in the 80's.

Just like all millenials don't drink PBR and dress like this.
But that's never stopped you fricks from acting that way.
