I'm not in as much agreement about music. I think very good music was made and is still being made, however popular music in the 2000's+ is shite. There are still artists making great music, but it doesn't always end up being played a million times on the radio.

Your rights 9 year olds should definitely be spending their time on the iPad/iPhone than outside getting exercise, exploring, interacting with other humans etc...

Skyrocketing obesity rates and shorter lifespans for our children is the way to go!

It was actually a bitch to buy a house in the 80's. The problems you're talking about started in the early 2000's thanks in large part to this dude....

Or maybe kids just don't give a shite about tennis, so the best athletes go to other sports?

You have no clue what the life expectancy is of this generation of kids. You're just making shite up as you go along.

Buying a home in the 80s must have sucked... What was it, like 12% rates?

Now it's cheap and easy to buy.

The 80's were exciting because of the evolution of technology in that decade. Computers came into the home and video games went from Pong to Nintendo (pretty major leap).

Today is better with cars, smart phones and TV sports coverage.

Politically things were better in the 80's. People were proud to be American and we had the Russians to hate collectively. We won the arms race, the space race and the cold war. 'Merica!

Darwinism man. It will all work itself out in about 40 years when these little fatties grow up to be big fatties and die before theyre 50.

Did you see the interest rates back then?

ETA: The average homebuyer today can take advantage of 0% down rural loans, 3.5% down FHA, 5% down conventional, etc. It doesn't take as much to buy a house today as you're trying to claim.

lol, ok man. It's pretty well documented that this generation is the first to have a life expectancy shorter than their parents.

I know all that...I am avoiding that on purpose. Median income was better...

No way you can tell me...it's easier to buy a house now without a first home buyer

I wasn't necessarily referring to the 80s with that post, just the idea of everyone bing able to own a home. Also, the Community Reinvestment Act didn't help anything.

eta: but not nearly as large an affect as many think
