Lol call me biased because I was born in the 80's, but besides the technology, the 80's seems like such a cooler decade than the one we're living in right now. The movies and music were MUCH better in the 80's, and the fashion styles of the decade were very unique. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for the technological innovations since the 80's (Internet, video games, better cars, healthcare, etc.) but life just seemed like it was good in the 80's all around. For those of you who lived through that decade, what do y'all think? Were the 80's better than the days we're living in now?

how could I possibly know. I'm 30 now, and was 5 the the last time the 80's were around. I assume being 5 today is pretty awesome.

80's might go down as the best decade in American history...

50's might have something to say about that though

Im a huge fan of the 90s but Im sure that is basically the nostalgia effect rather than it actually being better. I think technology is a pretty significant thing that has become better. And I am not of the idea that having better tech has ruined our life experiences. It has opened doors that were closed in the 80s and 90s.

The problem now is...most of the realistic accomplishments for the average person have already been done...

I think nostalgia is skewing your view. You were oblivious to all of the things you listed too.

This is the best time.

Yep. The 70's and even the 60's were good as well. Then sometime around the early 90's everything started going to shite.

If we're just talking music and movies I prefer the 90s to the 80s but yeah the 80s is better than this current decade.

I'm not in as much agreement about music. I think very good music was made and is still being made, however popular music in the 2000's+ is shite. There are still artists making great music, but it doesn't always end up being played a million times on the radio.
