They annoy the hell out of me too. People who like Kevin Hart are probably the only people dumb enough to find the 610 stompers clever or funny.

Yeah that article sounds on point.
610 Stompers look like they have fun and are nice fellows and all, but they are not entertaining to me at all. People who are enamored with them are either being hyper-new orleanian or are kinda dumb.

The last time they were in the Macy's parade, the announcers didn't know what to make of them. They were like "ummm, well, ummm." That was actually funny.

I think that, in fact, they Do take themselves too seriously. There are a whole bunch of marching krewes of every satirical stripe, but none but the 610's started advertising on busses and billboards and tv, and none march in out of town parades.
That's called, taking yourself too seriously.
If it's just a bunch of locals making merry during carnival season, then it's funny. The Rolling Elvi, the Pussy Footers, the Laissez Boys, etc, seem a lot funnier because of this.
