Dont freak... yet. You can still work and go to walmart.
Except if you work for maybe restaurants and other events they've already shut down.

The CDC said individuals and organizations should reschedule events with 50 or more people for the next eight weeks.
Gatherings of any size should be reconsidered unless organizers can protect vulnerable people, ensure proper hand hygiene and social distancing.
The guidance doesn't apply to schools, universities or businesses, the CDC said

so can the subway in walmart still allow dine in customers?

Well that makes zero sense. 50 people is 50 people, regardless of the setting.

Except bars and restaurants? Sounds business-ist. YOU BOUT TO GET LAWYERED

This is the shitshow we are dealing with right now.
No gatherings of 50 people or more, UNLESS its a school, university, or business (95% of places over the 50 people rule)

I'm starting to think we should just make old people stay home like the UK.

If they were serious about things they’d make it no gatherings of 50 people period. They are basically just closing things people enjoy. Let me know when they shut down the government buildings that have 100 cubicles on every floor.

Nothing to see here, when I saw they started closing only certain industries I knew it was political.
Either this is real or it isn't, getting kind of choosey.

OP references CDC guidelines... no mention of how JBE has interpreted those

50 people in a typical restaurant is much different than 50 in a big box retailer. It's a matter of proximity and duration of potential exposure.

We should just tell the old people and sick to stay home. Everyone else get out and exercise your immune system.

Right or wrong, the thinking is to slow the spread so it can be managed. Every little bit would help in that scenario.
What would be the alternative, do nothing or shut down the entire country? Guess the middle ground is to shut down bars, movies, etc. and allow more essential functions.

50 people standing next to each other at a concert or a bar does not equal 50 people spread out across 2,000 sq feet of office space.

then why ban outside sports, activities and whatnot? You dont think people cant spread out from each other?

I mean, agreed. But what about 50 people at a 2000 sq ft restaurant?
Like others have said, either it is real, or it isn't. This is half-assed and purely for optics.

I agree with you. I don't know how practical that is.
I mean, 50 people could easily spread out at a UNO baseball game, but not so easily at an LSU baseball game.

this is the government doing everything they can to avoid a total ban, which is how this is going to end.
