I mean, 50 people could easily spread out at a UNO baseball game, but not so easily at an LSU baseball game.

Why, the stadium is bigger, they could spread out more easily.

this is the government doing everything they can to avoid a total ban, which is how this is going to end.

But that's the point. Either the threat is real enough to do it or it isn't.

Why continue to come down with these partial bans?

They will do this, there will be no need if people will act right, but we won't, we will keep being assholes and people will keep talking about colds and the flu, and we will keep getting more and more govt decisions for our lives.

If you dont like it, quit acting like spoiled assholes.

I'm starting to think we should just make old people stay home like the UK.
But then who'd be going to the store for more Hot Pockets, Pizza Rolls, and Cheetos?

Because they know (I think) that a complete ban is basically dropping a nuke.

That's communist, martial law stuff right there. Something that goes against pretty much everything the USA stands for.

These partial bans are to knock down as much of the low-hanging fruit as they can, and they are hoping it will spur the rest of us into self-compliance, without the need for an overriding ban.

Like others have said, either it is real, or it isn't. This is half-assed and purely for optics.

Visitors were not allowed at my Grandpas nursing home starting last Thursday
Yesterday was the 1st day they didn't herd everyone into the dining hall for meals

We cannot pick up his laundry, they literally are refusing to carry his laundry basket & set it outside the door for us, but plan to wash “everyone’s clothes together & hope they get everything that’s theirs back”

We cannot drop off food or snacks but staff can order food to be delivered

Well that makes zero sense. 50 people is 50 people, regardless of the setting.

Um... no. Did you even think through this post before you made it? Bars are often closely packed quarters. Same for restaurants. Groceries only get closely packed at checkouts and even then you can probably distance yourself a few feet between the person in front and behind you in line.

Never mind the fact that going to a grocery store is pretty much an essential unless you're one of these BAWS that sustains yourself on hunting. Going to a restaurant or bar is not essential. And not being able to do so is a minor inconvenience.

I agree but people like Latoya that are power hungry and control freaks are taking advantage of the situation to flex their muscles when normally they wouldnt be able to, at the same time distract people from the other serious issues that person is dealing with.

She will use her response to the Corona virus as a platform for re election instead of recognizing the misuse of credit cards, unnecessary travel, the S&WB, Hard Rock, not paying her taxes, shutting down Mardi Gras Parades, the Fire Dept,etc....shes going to fool her dumb arse voters into thinking shes doing a good job

I still cant belive thre are posters on this site that defended her, voted for her and still defend her.

I would take 3 Ray Nagins over this fricking count anyday

No gatherings of 50 people or more, UNLESS its a school, university, or business (95% of places over the 50 people rule)

State has complete control over regulating liquor licenses. Alcohol is not a constitutional right. Your 'right' to go to a restaurant is only protected by public accommodation laws, e.g., you can't be prohibited from eating at a place because of your race. Aside from that states can regulate businesses under their general police powers to their heart's content so long as there is a rational basis for doing so. Pro tip: almost nothing fails the rational basis test.

You might as well complain you don't have the right to drive 100 MPH on the highway.

The amount you post I'd be surprised if you go out for drinks/dinner more than twice a year.
