Better times. I feel blessed to have grown up in the 80’s

I’m sure everyone says this from their childhood but the 80s had it all.

So carefree. The last true decade before technology took over

That's how those girls got kidnapped and left in the Texas killing fields in the 80s.

I find this interesting.

I vividly remember calling my parents with a payphone from the theater or mall when I was younger.

however, I was born in 1990. My parents didnt have a cell phone for awhile.

i identify more with the 80s given all of my older siblings were raised in that time period.

Great times. The only rules from my parents were to be home when the street lights turned on.

They literally had no idea where I was for like 10-12 hours a day in the summer

EDIT: But there was no way on earth I dared not follow this one rule. HELL NO

Payphones started declining in big numbers in the early 00s, maybe 00-05. They used to be everywhere though.

It's not new, we did the same in the late 60's and 70's. Great times in retrospect.

10-speed bike with those pedals that would rip your shin off should your foot slip. No bike helmet. Pay phone. What appears to be a Chrysler in the background - four door family car. The good ole days...

I recall every girl had a 10 speed, not because they gave a shite about riding bikes, but because it was a fashion symbol.
