I am not embarrassed by my Lada. It is of the highest Soviet quality, and gets 16 hectares per liter of kerosene.

I haven’t seen the new body style but the old ones are all up high. It’s kind of pointless to route them so much considering where the intake is and how the engine bays are setup

He also had an MG midget. We used to turn it sideways in the parking lot so he couldn't get out

You can conceive and drive the kid all in one vehicle.

years ago one my friends' wife said they were going shopping for a car and she wanted a minivan. I told him dude, don't get a minivan ,it's embarrassing. If you do, i will call you minivan man the rest of your life.

He refused to get one and his wife is still pissed at me for that.

Yup. Nothing screams “real man” like letting your “friend” dictate your purchasing decisions by threatening to call you names.

They were the perfect vehicle (outside of muscle cars) for that era. I doubt they would be popular again as cruising culture isn't much of a thing anymore.

true, and I think you could have flunked a drug test from residual pot smoke just by sitting in one of my friends' van

I don’t understand why if you want the room of the minivan you wouldn’t get a tahoe or another SUV?

Have you seen the price of Tahoe's lately? They are inching towards $60k. You can get a minivan for under $30k.

What went wrong with it?

INB4: Everything

Not at all. It was a high mileage all stock 4.0l Rubicon when I bought it.

Simple things to address, rear main seal leak, rear axle leak.

What annoyed me about it is when an issue arose it always stopped it from running. Tos sensor failed, wouldn't run at all. To a sensor failed in my Suzuki, it just ran like shite. Just dumb electrical gremlins that would pop up.

Mechanically, it was a great unit, but I never trusted it after the TPS fiasco.

4runners will always run, but contrary to what their owners say, there's always a check engine light on for something.

Suzukis are too old these days.

H3s are awesome, but too douchey and mechanically crap after 150k miles.

I love xterras, but the pro4x has a weak rear axle and you can't get lockers on the regular one.

If I were buying to cruise, I'd get an old scout.

Winner. There has never been a more embarrassing car, both in terms of mechanical shittyness and absolutely repellant appearance.

It's Walter White's failure of a man losermobile for a reason.

Nothing wrong with them. Most SUVs these days are just less useful minivans. No one is impressed by a SUV.

This.

Can't think of a single reason why anyone would choose an SUV over a minivan. Maybe Towing? But even then I'm not sure because, as anyone who's lived in the snow knows, front wheel drive is better for traction. I've seen front wheel drive minivans handle slick boat ramps much better than some of these F250s in 2wd.
