Not at all.

Station wagons > sedans

Minivans > SUVs

Because neither sedans nor SUVs do anything better than station wagons and minivans, respectively, and you're actually giving up a lot. To buy a sedan over a station wagon or an SUV over a minivan is purely an aesthetic decision.

All of this is coming from somebody who owns a two-door coupe, a sedan and an SUV.

Van life is making a little comeback. I’d love to do it.

I've had pickups long before pickups were cool, too many needs for it, besides who would all of my friends look to when they need to borrow one?

I don’t drive a mini van but a rental gave me one recently to drive and it was fun as hell. I wouldn’t hate driving one if I had kids. Who cares what anyone else thinks

Those are surprisingly stout AF.

One of the car shows did a deal where they ran it into a wall and it kinda bounced off.

Well, yea.

Smart is made/owned by Mercedes. Mercedes doesn't play when it comes to safety and structural/mechanical engineering.

Mercedes-Benz of New Orleans dealership had a Smart car on the showroom floor that was in cutaway to show its build quality and safety features.

I'm not easily impressed and I don't know the numbers on it but it was pretty impressive.

Meh... Maybe at low speed, but they have a poor occupant injury rating.

This is on the lower expressway on the Westbank.

Yeah well, that's quite possibly the worst situation you could be in for any passenger vehicle.

Smashed between two dump trucks can only be bested by smashed between two concrete mixer trucks.

I think that ambulance was wishful thinking on somebody's part.

Oh I agree, many would have a similar fate. But in my experience patients in larger vehicles (mass/weight) and more importantly a body on frame vehicles typically see less injuries.

Which is interesting considering one of the justifications for unibody Construction was the ability to engineer safety instead of having to rely on mass which kills MPG and performance

This isn't a good way to attract new clients. You need to work on your people skills if you want to move up in your industry. I hear the soft game is competitive in the Dallas region.

I want no part of whatever life event you managed to partake that helped you derive at this conclusion.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

Because a minivan is so much more efficient at moving people and cargo, it's not even debatable. A Tahoe with the 3rd row up has almost no cargo space.

You're not wrong, but I don't think it's an efficiency decision in most cases. Price is likely the #1 factor.

Crash ratings and testing yields only a snap shot of data.

The crash ratings, videos, etc are all conducted at 40mph and mostly involve stationary objects.

Yeah those shaggin wagons need to make a comeback.

Try getting your hands on a VW Bus. They're not cheap. I wonder if 1980s/90s vans eventually make a similar comeback in the classic car market.

Lincoln's are underrated in general. I would say Lincoln and Mazda the two most overlooked and underappreciated brands on the planet.

This was one of the most badass enjoyable cars I've ever driven, it's still sticks in my mind even after all these years.....
