Biologically, almost certainly not. Societally, yes, but we havent evolutionarily caught up to that
I’ve had that same thought many times but it was purely based on animalistic behavior. We’ve evolved quite a bit, though. There are other benefits to coupling that outweigh procreating a species

Actually, humans are not wired to be monogamous beings
Based on some research or just your own thoughts?

How many relationships did you ruin during your time as an addict that was in and out of prison?

When I say that there are benefits that outweigh procreating a species, what I mean is that there are benefits to furthering a species when the father is present, rather than rapid firing semen into as many women as possible

Because of the society that we've created. In a straight evolutionary sense, no there isn't.

Humans were meant to be coupled

and most men, once they nut, want to be left alone (post nut clarity)
few will ever admit this though, there's a lesson there

Good ole rocket,
Never waste an opportunity to remind everybody how fulfilling it is to be alone.

I'm an introvert and enjoy my alone time but I also don't think we were made to be alone. Although important, there's a lot more to a relationship than just sex.
