I saw this very trailer yesterday morning in Fultondale, which means these folks must have packed and drove through the night to come and provide help for their neighbors in case they needed it.
Inspiring, selfless and awesome people!

Have we been able to sort out who of the "Cajun Navy" are the decent, good people and who are the sketchy attention-whores?

Get mad all you want, but the Cajun Navy has different groups, some of which are scams.

That's definitely authentic Cajun Navy. You can tell by how many cameras they have mounted on the trailer.

Rule #1 of rescue - It's not worth doing if you can't post it on facebook.

This is going to ruffle the feathers of multiple posters who do absolutely nothing to help in a disaster.

I mean, that's great. We sent a bunch of money and supplies to our people in LC that lost everything too. But this is what those "selfish because they have social media on their trailer" folks do. Why would anyone want to diminish their work?

I stopped following the Cajun Navy after the Baton Rouge/Denham flood debacle, so I couldn't say if they've gotten better.

When the flood happened, two friends and I loaded up the boat with supplies and headed to the impacted area.

The guy who was running the show for the Cajun Navy (forgot his name) kept posting facebook videos; "meet me here and we'll launch the boats to save people" Every time we'd show up, he was nowhere to be found. His last video was from his living room, bragging about all the good he was doing.

We eventually found a cop, had him lead us to a launch point. He jumped on board and and guided us around to check on people. We eventually did a lot of good, but probably would have gotten a lot more accomplished if we hadn't been lead on a wild goose chase.

FYI..I personally paid for those cameras. They are used to prevent theft of our equipment at night. Yes we had stuff stolen. Sometimes we have to leave the trailer in the middle of no where for a night or two. We can monitor our stuff remotely. Get your facts straight ..MR KEYBOARD MOTOR MOUTH.
